Book Bette Jo Nienhuis.

Imagine moving eight times in 35 years of marriage, separating from dear friends, wondering if new friends can be made in a new community, the loss of self in a maze of boxes and unfamiliar surroundings.

Faced with these upheavals, Bette Jo Nienhuis has learned to trust God in her search for significance and in the development of friendships. And the lessons that she has learned have been shared with women at retreats and conferences in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Arizona.

Today, Bette Jo serves as Director of Ministry to Women at Grace Community Church in Hudsonville, Michigan. She also teaches at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Yet she continues to view herself as a very ordinary clay pot through whom God shows His extraordinary power as she submits herself in obedience to Him (2 Corinthians 4:7).

A Registered Nurse, Bette Jo earned her nursing degree from Bronson School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Art in Health Studies from Western Michigan University, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. She has been married to her husband, Bob, for 35 years and is the mother of two married daughters and one grandchild.
